Family Ski Holidays in la Plagne

La Plagne is a perfect location for a family ski holiday in France. As part of the enormous ‘Paradiski’ area linking la Plagne with les Arcs, it offers 425km of downhill slopes, meaning skiers of all abilities are well provided for. More importantly, each one of the 10 small villages that comprise la Plagne features a nursery for children to enjoy the snow in.

Each village is purpose built and boasts shops, bars, restaurants ski schools and fun children’s villages meaning all the amenities you could possibly hope for on a family ski holiday are within easy reach, all contained within a remarkably picturesque French alp setting.

Along with Tignes, la Plagne is one of the few French ski resorts able to offer year-round skiing courtesy of the Bellcote glacier, although less experienced skiers should be warned that the glacier also provides the highest point of the resort, sitting at 3,250m above sea level and featuring some of the most challenging run available at la Plagne.

Perhaps one of the biggest draws to la Plagne for those after a ski holiday in France is the Olympic Bobsleigh run where the more daring holiday-goers can reach speeds of up to 134km/h for a truly new experience.

La Plagne is not famous for a particularly wild apres ski scene, meaning that it is perhaps more suited to a family ski holiday than to a raucous group ski holiday, but for a family ski holiday, it is absolutely perfect. The stunning, picturesque alpine scenery, combined with wonderful amenities and purpose built children’s facilities make it an absolute joy for family ski holidays. And with the opportunity to ski all year round, la Plagne is one of the top destinations for a French ski holiday whatever the season.
